Services have expanded and have been provided to select events. Items such as results, Multi-Event Registration, and other registration services have been added over the past few months. A significant portion of these services have been utilized by participants and directors.

Today marks a great day for Fall with the weather being one of the highlights as of this day. In addition, Athens to Atlantis is now following up on its prior announcements. In the prior announcement on 10/07/2008, there were expectations of informative postings to the Web about services being offered related to running registration to come in the near future. This item was delayed from the expected time and in addition contact with new prospective directors were temporarily put to a halt. Athens to Atlantis decided to pursue some development changes before it established itself significantly with prospective race directors since no timely delivery of services were required as of the present time by existing prospective directors. These changes were made to provide an overall benefit to both Athens to Atlantis and its customers in the near future.

Parties being Serviced and Information Inquiries

As of the present moment, Athens to Atlantis is announcing the first stage of its services as available. Those race directors who have already inquired about our services will be given 1) limited access and priority for registration services in addition to demos, and 2) the details about services that will be provided for their specific event. Those race directors inquiring after the present time, can expect approximately two weeks until their race can be set up for registration. Restrictions do apply for race directors to setup their event on our site.

Currently, race directors should still inquire to us about information related to our running event registration services via email or phone. Presently, no information is available via the Web. It is expected that first postings to the Web will start within one week from today.

Brief Description of Running Registration Services to be Offered

With an initial focus on running event registration services, Athens to Atlantis will allow race directors to display information about their event on our site and acquire necessary information and payment from participants. Typical information for display includes the race information essentials, such as the race name, location, different events on race day and their entry fees, and the location. In addition, many race directors may chose to include information about awards and door prizes, and some may have a race logo or a picture they also want to show on the site.

Race directors can setup to retrieve additional information beyond the default information. For instance, race directors may have team events where they need to collect team names and captain names, or directors might want to know how a participant heard about their event, or perhaps you are offering a wider than normal range of shirt sizes and multiple shirt types.

From the time a race director opens their event for registration, registrant information is immediately accessible after the registrant has registered in the race director account. This allows race directors to interface registrant information directly with timing services or produce electronic bib printouts. After the race is complete, race results can be posted to the site.

Payment from the participants is initially collected from Athens to Atlantis and then later distributed to the race director. Payment is accepted from multiple major credit institutions. For our standard listing of an event on our site, there are no upfront (or setup) fees. Athens to Atlantis only collects fees from race directors as a certain portion of the payment collected from registrants, which is kept by Athens to Atlantis for processing payment and registration of the participant.
